Questions

Which moorings with waiting lists in the Midlands have space now?

None of the 5 has told us in the last six weeks that it has space. We ask every site regularly; the list above updates as they reply.

Can you live aboard at moorings with waiting lists in the Midlands?

3 of the 5 say you can: Saltisford Canal Centre (liveaboard by arrangement), Sileby Mill Mooring Basin (liveaboards allowed) and Sutton Stop Marina (liveaboards allowed). Living aboard can need planning consent and council tax; ask each site about its terms.

Do I need a licence as well as a mooring?

On top of the mooring fee: of these, 4 need a Canal & River Trust boat licence and 1 need Environment Agency registration (Thames, Medway, Anglian waterways). Coastal marinas usually need none.
